Festivals & Events

When: When the first flowers bloom in the Sunflower Fields

Celebration: Everyone plants a flower seed and makes a wish. The day ends with a parade of flower crowns through all three communities.

Mini-Game: Flower Crown Relay - Teams race to collect different colored petals and create the most beautiful crown, but they must do it while hopping on one foot or walking backwards!

When: When the Shimmer River's flow becomes strongest from snowmelt

Celebration: Everyone gathers at Millbrook to listen to the river "sing" as it flows over special stones. Miller Tom leads community singing.

Mini-Game: Echo Chamber Challenge - Stand by the river and try to create the best echo by singing different notes. The river "judges" by how long the echo lasts!

When: The longest day of the year

Celebration: The Crystal Caves glow their brightest, and Echo the Dragon tells riddles by crystal-light. Everyone brings glowing lanterns to the caves.

Mini-Game: Riddle Relay Race - Teams must solve Echo's riddles to earn glowing crystals, then race through the caves following the crystal-light path without dropping their crystals!

When: When the harvest begins

Celebration: Every family in the kingdom contributes one dish to a massive outdoor feast in the castle courtyard. New friendships are celebrated.

Mini-Game: The Great Dish Dash - Teams must work together to carry increasingly silly combinations of dishes across obstacle courses without spilling anything!

When: Peak harvest time

Celebration: A three-day festival with dancing, storytelling, and the famous Rainbow Egg Contest using Farmer Mae's special chickens.

Mini-Game: Moonlight Scavenger Hunt - Search for hidden harvest treasures around all three communities using only moonlight and friendly fireflies as guides!

When: After all crops are harvested

Celebration: Everyone shares what they're grateful for. The Harvest Goddess shrine glows with warm light, and wishes written on leaves are carried away by friendly autumn winds.

Mini-Game: Thankful Leaf Toss - Write something you're grateful for on a leaf, then see who can toss it highest for the autumn winds to carry away. Bonus points for creative gratitude!

When: The longest night of the year

Celebration: Every window in the kingdom glows with warm light. Families share hot chocolate and tell stories about brave deeds and friendship.

Mini-Game: The Great Blanket Fort Championship - Teams build the coziest blanket forts, then judge each other's creations. Everyone gets to visit every fort with hot chocolate!

When: The first big snowfall

Celebration: Children catch snowflakes and make wishes. Grumblethorne the Grumpy Wizard actually smiles during this festival and creates magical snow sculptures.

Mini-Game: Snow Sculpture Telephone - Like the telephone game, but with snow sculptures! One person builds something, whispers what it is to the next person, who tries to build the same thing, and so on!

When: Announced by the talking ravens when they feel the kingdom needs more laughter

Celebration: Everyone must wear the silliest hat they can create. Lord Aldric judges the contest while wearing an upside-down flower pot.

Mini-Game: Hat Stack Challenge - Teams try to stack as many silly hats as possible on one person's head while they hop on one foot and count backwards from 20!

When: Usually happens 2-3 times per year due to magical mishaps

Celebration: Everyone does someone else's job for the day. The blacksmith tries cooking, the innkeeper tries magic, etc. Hilarious results guaranteed!

Mini-Game: Job Swap Relay - Teams rotate through different "job stations" (pretend to shoe a horse, cast a spell, bake bread) but they must do each job in the silliest way possible!

When: When the talking ravens organize their collected lost items

Celebration: All the lost items the ravens have collected are displayed, and people try to remember what they lost. Many items find new homes with people who need them more.

Mini-Game: Mystery Item Guessing Game - Items are hidden in bags, and players must guess what they are by touch alone, then make up silly stories about how the item got lost!

After any successful scenario:

  • The Victory Dance - Everyone teaches the heroes a silly dance move, and together you create a new dance to celebrate the adventure.
  • Compliment Circle - Everyone sits in a circle and gives each hero a compliment about how they helped solve the problem.
  • The Story Stone - Pass around a special stone, and each person adds one sentence to retell the adventure story, making it more heroic and funny each time.
  • Wish Feathers - Use feathers from the friendly ravens to make wishes about future adventures together.

You can add these to the end of any scenario based on the time of year:

  • Spring: Plant a seed together to commemorate the adventure
  • Summer: Have a picnic with all the NPCs who helped
  • Autumn: Create a "thankfulness leaf" for solving the problem
  • Winter: Build a small snow sculpture (or pretend one) representing the adventure

Some scenarios work especially well with specific festivals:

  • Missing Rainbow Chickens could happen right before the Harvest Moon Celebration
  • The Singing Mill's Silent Mystery might occur during the Singing Stream Festival
  • The Crystal Cave Echo Mystery could coincide with the Crystal Light Festival
  • The Sleepy Giant's Garden Problem fits perfectly with the Great Flower Awakening
